Do you watch America’s Got Talent?
We’ve been keeping up with the latest episodes and it never ceases to amaze me how CREATIVE people are!
No act is the same as the others, and we totally love the thrill of never really knowing what we’re gonna get.
Like a Mary Poppins bag-o-tricks, one thing after another keeps coming up to surprise us.
From an autistic boy doing magic & telling his story through his card trick, to a woman doing sand art that illustrates out an entire story line….
Acts performed by the blind, the orphaned, the outcast, the self-taught…
You name it, they’ve got it (and MORE)!

For real- AGT even had a guy doing fart tricks! And ohhhh! How my son desperately wanted that dude to win!
Luckily my fellow Americans know how to appropriately cast their votes and set him free to go packing back home.
I’m so grateful the fart guy didn’t make it through… I mean, I have a 12 year old son… I already have enough of the stinking fart jokes in my house.
(Get it?? “Stinking” fart jokes…?! I crack myself up! 🤣)
BACK TO THE REGULARLY SCHEDULED PROGRAMMING…
(I bet you’re wishing you would have skipped that last part now, huh?! 😁)
Ok – my whole point is this:
There are ENDLESS ways to be creative!
•Gone are the days of believing that a creator is simply someone who paints like Bob Ross – even with his happy accidents.
•Gone are the times when everyone should be conformed to the same mold to do the same thing the exact same way as prescribed for everyone else, ever….
ENOUGH.
Hey sweet cheeks: you’re not a robot!
Please don’t treat yourself like one.
You are the one and only YOU! —
You have your own story.
You have your own creative abilities ~ however those are expressed!
There’s something that comes alive in you when you give yourself the freedom to explore and create – not because you want it perfect or because you’re trying to turn it into a million-dollar business venture… but simply because you were created to create.
Somehow.
Someway.
~words strung together in rhyme or story
~well thought-out systems to streamline processes at home or work or wherever you spend your time
~architecture designed to be beautiful and functional
~home decorating or arranging that creates spaces you feel inspired by
~music, painting, drawing, coding, digital design…
~delicious meals or sweet treats (Amen for the baked goods!)
~well thought-through experience design

I agree.
The act of creating pulls out this untapped part of us.
The part that we easily tend to shove down, ignore, and slowly suffocate because we’re afraid of judgement.
Who cares?!
Do it for yourself–
For your own heart.
– And before you start doggin’ on yourself and try to talk yourself out of it because you want to be hyper-critical of yourself or your skills or your creative worth (…and the list goes on and on… you know how it goes), just remember this:
Somewhere in the world right now, some dude is on a stage getting paid to do fart tricks because some people dig it… (some people’s kids 🙄).

You know just as well as I do that parts of your soul awaken when you create.

Do something today to tap into the well of your heart & create something ~ anything!.
